Edwards Memorial Funeral Homes - University Place
Martha Fudge
February 27th, 1922 - October 11th, 2012
Martha passed away peacefully and now lives with her Savior. She was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, and resided in Lakewood, WA, since 1967. She met her husband in Canada and they were married at Elmendorf AFB, Anchorage, Alaska, at the base chapel on April 24, 1951. They celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2001. Martha became a naturalized citizen in 1956. She was preceded in death by her husband Dyre, Sr. in 2001, and 11 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son Dyre, Jr. (Laurie), daughters Delcia Rosenow (Joel), and Darlene Fudge, and her grandchildren Jeffrey and Jillian Fudge, and Sonva Rosenow; also sisters Olga Buechler (Norm), Irene Aldridge (Albert), Betty Munday (Lyle), and Sylvia Tokevich, and many nieces and nephews. Martha was a homemaker in the truest sense. Wherever the family ended up in their numerous military moves and travels, she always made the destination "home." She was a dedicated mother and grandmother and enjoyed time with her family and grandchildren. She also worked for Clover Park School Dist. Food Services for almost 20 years. Her children would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to her caregivers at her adult family home: Ghenet, Joyce, Agnes W., and Agnes K. They were truly a second family to Martha and loved very much by her. We can never thank you enough, Ghenet, for all the love and compassion you showed to our mother. The family finds great comfort that their mother heard the saving word of Christ from the pastors of Parkland Lutheran Church in devotions at the adult family home. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at Parkland Lutheran Church at 1:00 p.m., reception to follow, 120 123rd St. S., Tacoma, WA 98444.
