Lawrance "Larry' "Ben" Nelson was born in Tacoma Washington on April 18, 1949. Parents were Florence May Nelson-Cross of Tacoma and Bennie Nelson of Colville. On April 3, 2016 He passed away at the Alaska Gardens Health and Rehabilitation Center in Tacoma WA. Larry was the youngest of three children. Growing up in Tacoma WA he attended McCarver grade school and graduated Stadium High School. He also spent some time at the Central Washington State University. He participated in Boys and Girls Club of America. A place to create, learn and do hands on activities like boxing. Larry attended CWU where he met Frances R Bushman. There he studied painting, abstract art and Photography. Larry and Frances married and started a family in Toppenish WA. Later he went on to have a family with Marian McCloud —Smith. He spent his remaining days in the company of his younger children Sabrina McCloud and Benjamin McCloud. He was an avid gambler and Fireworks salesman. Ben is survived by his older brothers Bobby Nelson and Donnie Nelson. Larry is also survived by his 4 Children Ben Nelson, April Bobbie Jo Nelson-Mejia, Sabrina McCloud and Benjamin McCloud. He also had 3 grandkids in Yakima WA and 3 grandkids in Tacoma WA.
