John Donald Robinson
March 19th, 1927 - May 4th, 2006
. JOHN DONALD ROBINSON John Donald Robinson, 79, of Olympia, died Thursday, May 4, 2005. Born to Fred and Marie (Calvert) Robinson on March 19, 1927 in Olympia, they thought it was a great place for him to enjoy his childhood. After high school, he went to work for the Olympia Veneer Company. On June 28, 1952, he married Nancy Ghent, and immediately moved to San Jose, California where they had three daughters, Linda Robinson-Drake, who died in December 2005, Rene Ruden and Lisa Robinson all of the Olympia area. In addition to his wife, John is also survived by five grandchildren; Tiffany, Annie, Anthony, Cassie, and Savannah and his son-in-law, Tom Drake. John was employed in the banking business and retired from Wells Fargo after 31 years. He worked as a volunteer fireman with the Littlerock Fire Department District 11 for thirteen years and then served as a Fire Commissioner for 6 years making many improvements throughout the district. He was a member of various fraternal organizations; Kiwanis, Tumwater Lions, and a special place in his heart for the 55-year membership with the Olympia Elks Lodge 186. John was a person who loved life and had a great sense of humor. He loved to laugh. He also loved music, was caring, stubborn, strong willed, supportive, opinionated, adventurous, inquisitive, usually tolerant, but above all, loving. He will be missed by all who knew him.
