Ivan Lewis Wells
December 17th, 1941 - January 22nd, 2007
Ivan ( Sonny ) lost his war to cancer on January 22, 2007. Though his last year with us was a very painful and relentless battle he always kept humor and dignity a very important part of his life. Ivan would bring a smile to all of those around him. Ivan grew up in Mira Loma, California with his father Ivan Thomas Wells and his mother Gladys Elizabeth Wells and his sisters Wilma Geri, and Shirley. He had many nieces, nephews and family that he loved dearly. He had five children Terry, Cheri, Ivan, Pam, and Dawn whom he loved very much. He owned and operated Ivan's Mobile Home Service for many years. Owning his own business was very important to him and he did it well. He never had a shortage of happy customers! Ivan loved the outdoors, camping and fishing and he had a great passion for NASCAR. His favorite and only time on his boat was the summer of 2006 with his grandchildren Kacey and Jordan and his son-in-law Brad. They went fishing for the whole day and didn't catch a thing except for the 2 inch fish that Kacey caught. Dad said that the size didn't matter it was still one of his best days ever! He loved the simple things. Also in August of 2006 he was able to take his last vacation to California to see his sister Shirley. That trip meant so much to him. Ivan in his final days had the love of his two daughters Cheri and Pam surrounding him along with his true love Carol, his angel of mercy that took loving care of him until the end. He also had the thoughts and prayers of everyone who loved him. It was a great comfort to him. We would like to say a special thank you to his Doctors and Nurses that took such good care of him at St. Josephs Hospital. He spent a great deal of time there but we never had to worry. We knew that he was in kind and loving hands. And to Dr. Inouye and Dr. Baker, words can't express the gratitude we feel for you and all that you did for our Dad. Ivan truly thought of you as dear friends. You helped to give us more precious time with our Dad and for that we are eternally grateful. Even though family is sometimes complicated and hard to understand, Ivan loved all of his children. One of the hardest things for him was not being able to say goodbye to his sons Terry and Ivan Jr. and to his daughter Dawn. His most important wish was that you know and take comfort in knowing that he loved you. Dad, we love you and we will miss you. You will be in our hearts forever. And from his "son" in-law Brad, who he loved like his own son, his son-in-law Steve and his grandchildren Jordan, Kacey, Hope, and Steven Jr., we love you and know that someday we will all be together again. Rest now in Gods hands. " All that matters is that we love each other." Ivan Wells Sr. January 2007
