Harlan W. Sachs Harlan passed away peacefully January 13, 2010 at St. Peter's Hospital due to cerebral hemorrhage while surrounded by loving family and friends, he was 77. Harlan is survived by his wife, Nancy; sister, Marilyn Calkins; two daughters, Chris Crisman (David) of Monroe and their children, Matthew and Elizabeth, and Teresa Thomas (Rick) of Washougal and their children, Katherine, Michael, and Adam. Harlan was born September 12, 1932 in Olympia, Washington where he lived for the majority of his life. He graduated from Olympia High School in 1950 and continued on to the University of Puget Sound. He married his childhood sweetheart, Nancy Haycox, in 1956. In 1957 Harlan was drafted into the Army and the newlyweds spent two years in Germany. While overseas, the couple traveled extensively throughout Europe. After two years in Germany, he and Nancy settled in Tacoma, Washington where Harlan achieved a master's in banking and they raised their two daughters.
