David Anthony Mangino
February 9th, 1970 - January 1st, 2018
David Anthony Mangino passed away of small cell lung cancer on January 1, 2018 in Olympia, Washington. He was born February 9, 1970 to Joseph James Mangino II and Connie June Tyler in Phoenix, Arizona, where he later earned his GED in 1987 and attend Phoenix Community College. David served in the U.S. Army from March 1989 to June 1992, and fought in Desert Storm and the Gulf War. He married Catherine “Katie” McVay on May 1, 1993 in Olympia. Professionally, he was sales manager at Big 5, and Assistant Sergeant at Arms for the State House of Representatives. A warm, funny, snarky and adventurous man, David loved camping, hiking, kayaking, and fishing. He also enjoyed photography, building random things, and being with friends. He is survived by his wife, Catherine “Katie” Mangino of Olympia; son, Jake Mangino of Olympia; mother, Connie June Tyler of Phoenix, Arizona; sister, Jodi (Mangino) Logan of Brighton, Colorado; and aunt, Delena (Mangino) Sinclair of Quantico, Virginia. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph James Mangino II; paternal grandparents, Joseph James Mangino and Thelma Delena Mangino; and maternal grandparents, Harry W. and Ileta Tyler.
