Born June 30, 1943 in Chicago, IL, Carl Alan Manning, 73, passed away following a long illness on November 9, 2016 in Olympia, WA. Carl was a Professor of Physics and Mathematics at St. Martin’s University where he worked for 40 years. He enjoyed golf, the Seattle Sounders, Seattle Seahawks, and any team his children played on. Carl is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Kathleen Manning; sons, Carl P. Manning (Linda) and Patrick C. Manning (Krista Charles); daughter, Anna Sowers (Adam); five grandchildren; brother, Steve Manning (Barbara); and sister, Laurel Wilson. He was predeceased by his parents, Carl A. and Ruth Manning. Memorial donations may be made to the Fr. Killian Malvey OSB Scholarship or the Mary Law Scholarship at St. Martin’s University, 5000 Abbey Way SE, Lacey, WA 98503, or a charity of your choice.
