NA Donna Jean Schneider November 13, 1932 – October 19, 2012 Donna, 79, passed away the morning of October 19, 2012. She was born on November 13, 1932, to Walter Genzlinger and Vera (Lynde) Genzlinger in Howard, South Dakota. Donna was diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), two years ago. Donna graduated from Howard High School in 1951. Shortly thereafter, she moved to the Seattle area, where she lived until she retired to Mount Vernon, WA in 1994. In 2010 Donna moved to Olympia, WA. On July 3, 1954, Donna married Alwin Hubert Schneider. Together, they raised three daughters and one son. Donna enjoyed laughing, shopping, ceramics, playing games, and family gatherings. Even when her disease made it difficult for her to communicate in words, she would still erupt with a beautiful, contagious chuckle when something tickled her. She was an inspiration to her family as she moved into this chapter of her life with grace and acceptance. Donna is survived by, and will be greatly missed by, her son John W. Schneider (Mt. Vernon, WA); her daughters Linda K. Schneider (Seattle, WA), Aleena L. Schneider (Olympia, WA), and Jean M. Schneider (Renton, WA); three sisters Fern Merritt (Marblemount, WA), Janice Vail (Hoodsport, WA), and Karen Vail (Marblemount, WA), and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband. Celebration of Donna’s life will take place Saturday, November 3, 2012, beginning at 1p.m., at the Nativity Lutheran Church located at 17707 140th Ave SE, Renton WA. Please sign the guestbook below, and leave memories and condolences for the family.
