Bonnie Seath
August 21st, 1938 - August 28th, 2009
Bonnie N. SEATH (Haldeman) was born August 21, 1938 in Dalton, Nebraska and died August 28, 2009 at home in Olympia, Washington, just a few days after her 71st birthday. Loving mother if three, doting grandmother of eight, Bonnie was an avid golfer and prolific seamstress who loved to host family gatherings and hand-make gifts for family and friends.She was preceded in death in 1990 by husband Alfred S. Haldeman, and later, parents Kenneth and Leota Barr. Bonnie is survived by husband Robert Seath, children Terri Byers, Mike Haldeman, and Denise Anderson, stepson Ryan Seath, grandchildren Elise, Samantha and Jordon Byers, Madelyn and Maezy Haldeman, Dezmond and Daphne Anderson, and Logan Seath, as well her brother, Gerald Barr, and sister, Joy Gradwohl. Bonnie grew up the oldest of four children in Sidney, Nebraska. After graduating from Gurley High School in Gurley, Nebraska in 1955, she went on to become an elementary school teacher for Nebraska’s Cheyenne County School District. In the early 1960s, she moved to Seattle, where she met Alfred S. Haldeman, an aeronautical engineer at the Boeing Company. They married in 1963. She spent several years in Huntsville, Alabama where Fred worked on NASA’s Apollo Project. They returned to Washington with three small children in 1970 and settled in Bellevue. Bonnie was active with her children in 4-H and also as a foster parent. In the early 1980s, she attended Bellevue Community College and went on to become a Systems Analyst for Boeing Computer Services. After the death of her first husband, Bonnie met Robert Seath. They married and moved to Everett, Washington in 1992. They moved back to Bellevue after Bonnie retired from Boeing in 1993. In 2003, they moved to Olympia, Washington, where they became active members of Indian Summer Golf & Country Club. In 2006 they realized their dream of year-round golf, becoming winter residents of Sun City West, Arizona. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at the Grand Holiday Ballroom, 1522 4th Avenue East, Olympia, WA 98506. A reception will follow at the Seath home, 4022 Muirfield Lane Southeast, Olympia, WA 98501. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org or P.O.
