David Q. Fong
October 24th, 1947 - December 6th, 2016
David was born on Oct. 24, 1947 in Des Moines, Iowa to How Wo "Tony" Fong and Fayla Fong who predeceased him. He died on Dec. 6, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Chris, sons Robert (Lori) and Michael, his siblings Judith Mitchels (Howard Anderson), Diana Fong, and Howard Fong (Lis). He served in the military and was stationed in Korea. David was a produce manager & buyer for Super Valu in Des Moines and Tacoma for over 30 years, and was known as the "banana man". In 2010, he joined Charlie's Produce and was with them until his passing. Dave enjoyed outdoor activities with his family including waterskiing, snow skiing, boating, and camping. He loved taking his sons bowling and coaching their Little League teams. He was a great cook and everyone loved his steak & broccoli. He took pleasure in golfing with his family and regular golf friends. Dave also enjoyed his trips to Vegas with the guys. The family requests any memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, Dec. 18th from 1:00-3:00pm at Diana's home, 4305 North 16th St., Tacoma, WA 98406.
