George S. Smith
August 26th, 1923 - January 8th, 2008
George S. Smith, 84, passed away at St. Peter Hospital in Olympia on January 8, 2008. George was born August 26, 1923 in Stettler, Alberta, Canada to Alvin and Neppa Smith. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Washington, and was quite an accomplished Salesman and Draftsman, designing many restaurant kitchens, and was himself a restaurant owner. His last employment was in the Centralia/Chehalis area where he sold and drafted designs for metal pole buildings. After moving to this area, 40 Years ago, he met and married Patty Farler Eagan of Olympia, WA in July of 1974. When not working George enjoyed fishing, boating, RVing, and building and flying radio controlled planes.George is survived by his wife Patty J. Smith; son, Jonathan S. Smith; step sons, Tom Eagan, Timothy Eagan; daughters, Cheryl E. Smith, and Loretta C. Palladino; 4 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Neppa; a sister, Joyce Hamilton; grandson, Loren R. Blood. Services are scheduled January, 20, 2008 1-4 PM, VFW, 2902 Martin Way in Olympia.
