Elizabeth Rudolf Weise of Seattle, died of old age on November 3rd at the age of 74. She was born in Wilbur, Washington to Edith and Raymond Rigg. Her mother was a poet and her father an avid mountain climber and long-time member of The Mountaineers. Elizabeth grew up in the University District of Seattle and attended Roosevelt high school and the University of Washington. At the age of 19 she met the love of her life, Henry Weise, while visiting a cousin in West Virginia. Their romance deepened with letter writing and they married in 1955. Elizabeth is survived by two daughters, Beth Weise and Vicky Noviello, and her sister, Charlotte Nugent. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry and her brother George. Elizabeth loved gardening and enjoyed showing off her beautiful yard and flowers to family, friends and neighbors alike. She also was an avid follower of politics and proudly described herself as a ‘Stevensonian Democrat.’ Above all, she loved to read, especially biographies and mysteries. We would like to thank Dr. Michael Copass of Harborview neurology clinic for his excellent care and long friendship of our mother. And we would also like to thank Bailey-Boushay House in Seattle for their good care of our mother in her final days. Donations may be made to Bailey-Boushay House.
