Nellie Jeanne Smylie, a 40 year resident of Olympia, went home to be with the Lord on December 8, 2009. She was 84 years old.Jeanne was born January 3, 1925, in LaGrande, Oregon. She married Ira Delbert (Del) Smylie in 1947, and had three children. In 1970 they moved to Olympia and were active members of Emmanuel Baptist Church. After 33 years of marriage, Del passed away in 1980. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, sister Betty, sister Georgia, and husband Del. She is survived by her brother Raymond McMillan of North Carolina, daughter Jan Barclay of Alaska, son Wes Smylie of California, daughter Heather Cummins of Idaho, nine grandsons, and two great-grandsons.
