Harold James Dennett
March 29th, 1950 - June 7th, 2016
Born on March 29, 1950 in Tacoma, WA to Harold and Irene Dennett and passed away peacefully at his home on June 7, 2016 in Tacoma, WA surrounded by love. He dedicated 34 years working for the Tacoma School District and retired as a Chief Custodian in 2006. He was passionate about fishing, camping, motorcycles and of course, his family. He battled this past year with bladder cancer and all the side effects that come along with it. Though the heartache is far too much to face at times, his family finds peace knowing that he has found his forever paradise in heaven, watching over them, happily running wild and free again with his beloved dog and best friend, Mia, who joined him in heaven just over one day later on June 9th after fighting cancer, too. They were undoubtedly meant to be together and fate has called them home. Dad was such a goofy guy, always joking, always wanting to pull pranks, and always wanting to have a good time. His laughter and easy-going personality was contagious. He tried not to be serious when he didn’t have to be because he believed that people should, “Go with the flow.” He was the patriarch that helped build his family with his wife from day one of their love story, he was the father who taught his son how to be a man and taught him everything he knows today, and he was truly his daughter’s best friend in the whole wide world. His time, without a doubt was cut short, but he definitely made sure to leave a firm footprint in our hearts.Dad and Mia, our loves, rest well. We love you and we'll be seeing you on the other side. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Christine, daughters, Jennifer, Kimmie and Shayna, son, Jimmy, sister, Lillian, brother, Robert and countless other loving family members and friends. "It is what it is, be smooth, go with the flow and Git 'R' Done because it's all just dust in the wind, anyway!"–Dad A memorial service will be held on June 25, 2016 from 1-4pm at 1314 117th St. S. Tacoma, WA 98444.
