Shirley Rose Stoner

na Shirley Rose Stoner Shirley was born July 26, 1924 to C. Ellen (Imel) and Phillip E. Mosher in Boulder, Colorado. At the age of 2, she moved to Portland, Oregon where she grew up and went to school. She met Lloyd Stoner in 1945 and they married April 12, 1946. Shirley chose to be a stay at home mom and an excellent homemaker, raising their children Linda, Steve and Scott. In 1960 Lloyd and Shirley moved their family to Seattle to pursue business interests, and within 10 years settled in Lacey, Owning and operating the family business Tri City Meats. Retiring with Lloyd in 1979, they bought a travel trailer and traveled across the United States for 2 years. Visiting every interesting place they could find. Bringing back many interesting stories; they shared with family and friends. Traveling to china brought many more laughs and interesting stories. In 1987 Lloyd became ill. Together they fought his lung cancer until he passed in June of 1988. After Lloyds passing, Shirley visited old friends, made new friends, too short trips and enjoyed her children and grandchildren. Shirley passed away May 20th, 2011 in Lacey, Washington. She is survived by her children, Linda L.S. Hollis, Steven D. Stoner (Cindy) Scott T. Stoner (LeeAnn) and her grandchildren, Kurt D. Hollis, Dean Smith, Shanna Stoner and Courtnie Stoner. Also Shelby Amundson-Montoya, Shy Smith, Kodie Wohl, Kaysee Wohl and Katelyn Wohl, her great grandchildren. Family suggests in lieu of flowers donations can be made in Shirley’s name to the American Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice Her Funeral services will be held, Wednesday, May 25, 2011, 11:00 at Lacey Funeral Alternatives Chapel, 2830 Willamette Dr NE, Suite G, Lacey, WA.
