Alvin Elmer Larsen
December 29th, 1930 - March 25th, 2017
Alvin E Larsen was born December 29 , 1930 to the late Emil and Hattie Larsen, one of 4 brothers, and passed away March 25, 2017 in Tacoma , WA. He grew up in Tacoma and graduated from Lincoln High School and the University of Puget Sound. He met the love of his life Patricia Henry and they were married 61 years until her death in 2014. He retired from Stuart Pharmaceutical (now AstraZeneca) and then enjoyed working at Ameriprise Financial. He and Patty enjoyed snowbirding to their home in Palm Desert, CA where he played golf and tennis. Some of his favorite activities were marshaling at the PGA and celebrity golf tournaments and volunteering for the professional tennis tournaments in the Palm Springs area. They had many friends there and in Tacoma and he was always the life of the party especially if dancing was involved. He is survived by his 4 children; Susan (Philip) Christensen, Mark (Jackie) , Steven and Christopher Larsen. He also leaves 6 grandchildren; Melissa (TJ) Heitmann, Brian (Erin) Christensen, Timothy(Erin) Christensen, Christine Larsen,Danielle (Mark) Garduno, and Matthew Larsen and 6 great grandchildren; Grayson Garduno, Beau and Riley Heitmann, Noel and Emery Christensen and Lyric Larsen. A celebration of his life will be held Sunday, May 21 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at the Pierce County Environmental Services Building at 9850 64th Street West, University Place, WA.
