Cherrill Ann Zaffino
February 18th, 1938 - September 4th, 2010
Cherrill Ann Zaffino, 72, passed away September 4, 2010, with her family by her side in Tacoma, Washington. Cherrill was born February 18, 1938, in Modesto, California to James and Gloria Gillette. She graduated from Madera High School in Madera, California. She married J.J. Zaffino and they moved to Tacoma, Washington where their love for stock car racing began. She was an avid NASCAR fan and you could always find her glued to the television when a race was on. Cherrill enjoyed reading mystery, drama, and romance books, especially books written by Stephen King or Janet Evanovich. She also enjoyed solving crossword puzzles and always amazed everyone with her ability to accurately complete the puzzle. Cherrill is survived by her sister, Barbara Gillette; brother, James Gillette; son, Andy (Gail) Zaffino; daughters, Kim Caldwell and Toni Armenta; grandchildren, Jennifer Evans Ramirez, Jason Evans, Melysa Romstad, Casey Cruz, Cody Cruz, Jordan Groshong, Journi Romstad, and Justice Armenta; great-grandchildren, Caleb Barcinas, Kailee Wales, and Bella Cruz. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Gloria Gillette; sister, Janeth “Jan“ Howe; brother, Stanley “Stan“ Howe. Cherrill will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is loved and she will live in our hearts forever. A potluck celebration of her life will be held Sunday, September 12th, 2010, 1-3 p.m. at Highland Condominiums, 6110 N. 15th, Tacoma, Washington, 98406. Donations may be made to Franciscan Hospice House.
