Gloria Lynne Tharp Gloria Lynne Tharp, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on January 9, 2009. She was born in Tacoma, WA, on May 14, 1942, to Glen and Marion Christianson. She lived her early years in Grants Pass, OR and returned to Tacoma with her parents where she graduated from Aquinas Academy. She married her high school sweetheart, John Tharp, Jr., in 1961 and their four children were born in Tacoma before the family eventually moved to Lacey. Gloria enjoyed her years as store manager at Hickory Farms in Lacey and later working at Lincoln Elementary school in Olympia, but her greatest joy and pleasure came from her family. She is survived by her mother, Marion Christianson, her loving children; daughter, Molly (Dave) of Lacey; and sons, Mark (Susan) of San Antonio, TX, Glen (Elaine) of Glendale, AZ, and Christopher of Busan, Korea; and eight grandchildren, Erica, Cody, Corey, Mya, Haley, Brandon, Rebecca, and Jennifer. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, John, and her father, Glen. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 812A Bowker St. SE, Lacey, on Thursday, January 15, 2009, at 9:00 a.m., with a reception following. and remembrances may be made to Franciscan Hospice, 2901 Bridgeport Way W, University Place, WA 98466.
