Emily Rose Emily Rose Tholen was born on July 29, 2012 at 4:18 a.m. to Gabriela and Brian Tholen at University of Washington Medical Center. Her twin brother, Aidan, followed a minute later. Emily was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. She fought long and hard to overcome this unfortunate diagnosis, even undergoing heart surgery at 16 days of life. She battled MANY chest tubes, IVs and breathing tubes. She was our super star, overcoming many of the battles when the doctors didn’t think she would. After three months of fighting long and hard, Emily began to grow tired. Her lungs had been damaged because of her heart condition and she didn’t seem to be improving. She went to be with The Lord on Saturday, October 27, 2012. She passed peacefully in her loving parents arms. Though she was with us for only three short months, she has made an impact in our lives that will last forever. She is gone but she will never be forgotten.
