Helen "McDonald" Kathleen McLean

Helen Kathleen (MacDonald) McLean, 91, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2016. She was born in Vancouver, Canada and graduated from Lord Byng High School. She attended the University of Washington, majoring in Education with a minor in Music. She married Thomas McLean in March 1949 and they enjoyed over 50 years of marriage until his passing on December 13, 1999. She had three children. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Christina. She is survived by her son, David of Brier of Washington; daughter, Barbara of Tenino, Washington; and brother, Alex MacDonald of Aldergrove, BC. She has four granddaughters, six great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. In years past, Kathleen enjoyed outdoor activities, including tennis and hiking. She has always enjoyed and participated in music and especially enjoyed singing. She was a past member of the Olympia Choral Society and greatly enjoyed singing with them. She was also in the Pan Choir at Panorama and the choir at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Other activities of interest included sewing, playing bridge, reading, baking, volunteering at various organizations, and gardening. She was always ready to offer a kind word or support to anyone and will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Olympia Choral Society.
