Raymond Francis Siegle
November 26th, 1934 - March 12th, 2013
Raymond Francis Siegle, age 78, peacefully passed away at his home in Federal Way, WA surrounded by his family on Tuesday, March 12, 2013. Raymond was born on November 26, 1934 in Emmett, Kansas to Carl Raymond and Alice Susie (Sheehan) Siegle. Raymond married his wife, Dora Ann Grider, in New Orleans, Louisiana on September 27, 1969. They were together 43 years. Raymond graduated from Emmett High School in 1952. After graduating Raymond moved to Washington State and studied Industrial Engineering at the University of Washington. On October 1, 1956 he began a long prosperous career of 38 years with Boeing, retiring June 1, 1993. In 1963 Raymond moved to New Orleans, LA to work on the S-IC stage of the Saturn V rocket, manufactured at the Michoud Assembly Facility. During this time Raymond met the love of his life Dora. Together they had two sons. While working with the Boeing company Raymond had many challenging and fulfilling positions which took his family to Philadelphia, Tehran, Iran and finishing his career in Seattle, WA. Even though Raymond left the small town life of the Kansas farms perusing his dreams elsewhere, at heart Raymond was always a Kansas farmboy. No matter where he laid down his roots he always planted a vegetable garden in the backyard. Raymond so enjoyed sitting in the backyard or out on the deck eating the cherry tomatoes and boiling onions he grew. Raymond was a proud and loving father passing on his love of baseball, golfing and fishing. He supported his sons by coaching for 6 years with the Federal Way Little League. Raymond's number one enjoyment was spending time with family, sharing many fishing trips to Northern Canada and Alaska. Raymond so enjoyed fishing, one day while spending time at the family cabin on Lake Benson he recovered an an old water-logged boat barely floating on top of the water. Raymond took the boat home and spent many hours with his sons and kids of the neighborhood restoring it to become a great trolling boat enjoyed for many years. Our Raymond was a humble, hard working, loving and giving man, whose bright blue eyes and great sense of humor will be missed. Raymond is survived by his wife Dora Ann Siegle (Federal Way, WA); son Carl Dennis Siegle (Omak, WA) and granddaughter Ashley Lee Siegle (Eatonville, WA); son Scott Norman Siegle and wife Magdalena Siegle, grandson Sebastian Rey Siegle, granddaughter Alice Susie Siegle (Sierra Vista, AZ), and grandson Jacob Ryan Siegle (Renton, WA), father-in-law Loran D. Johnson, his four brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law, as well as several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Susie Siegle, brother Robert D. Siegle, sister-in-law Dorothy Siegle, sister Alice Lorrain (Siegle) Finnigan, brother-in-law William Finnigan, and nephew Denny Siegle.
