Anna Marie Triplett

Anna Marie Triplett Anna Marie, born January 2, 1922, passed away surrounded by her loving family on August 28, 2012. Anna Marie was born on the Birkland Ranch. The property is now home to the Yelm Airport. Shse was the youngest of Andrew and Elizabeth (Sholseth) Birkland's four children. Anna Marie graduated from Yelm High School in the class of 1940, and soon thereafter, moved to Seattle where she graduated from business college. Anna Marie married Navy sailor Frank Thurman Triplett on June 10, 1943, and together they had two children, Judith Ann and Ronald Bruce. Anna Marie utilized her business degree working as a secretary for Yelm Creamery, selling license tabs at Wolf's Grocery Store, as a secretary for Puget Power, and finally at the Yelm Moose Lodge where she worked as a secretary and waitress until she retired at the age of 80. Anna Marie was never one to stay home as her retired years were filled by taking trips with her lifelong friend, Corky Harriman, and spending time with her large family. Anna Marie was known as Grandma to her five grandchildren, Deborah Peterson, Deanna (Paul) Mickelson, Jolene Baker, Janelle (Shannon) Sadoski, and Shad Triplett; great grandma to Shawn (Chelsea), Tracie, Lacy, Gregory, Kyle, Amber, Kadin, and Riley; and great-great grandma to Dylan, Tanner, Presley, and Loren. She was preceded in death by her husband Thurman; sisters Connie and Nora; and best friend Corky. She is survived by her brother Alf "Bud" Birkland; daughter Judy (Joe) Baker; son Ron Triplett; her many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews.
