Margaret Marie Walk Margaret, fondly known by family and friends as “Jiggs,” passed away December 6, 2010 in Olympia, WA, at the age of 88. She was born November 24, 1922 to Frances Eugene Frost and Emma Inez Seelye in Bellingham, WA. She graduated from Bellingham High School, and attended Western Washington State College and a local business college. In her younger years, she was a beautiful dancer of ballet, tap and modern dance. Margaret married Mel Walk Jr. on April 26, 1942 in Long Beach, CA at All Saints Episcopal Church. They raised 5 children, and were married for 68 years. Margaret loved cats, enjoyed knitting, sewing, gardening, cooking, and reading, and was a “patron of the arts.” She considered two places home, Long Beach, CA (27 years) and Olympia (40 years). Margaret is survived by husband Mel; son Regan Walk of Ojo Sarco, NM; daughters Dana Van Horn of Olympia, Laurie Brake of Long Beach, CA, Heather Jonasson of Maple Valley, WA, and Erin Quann of Gig Harbor, WA; sister Katheryn King of Olympia; 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by sisters Helen Berg of Everson, WA, and Dorothy Daesener of Bellingham, WA.
