March 7th, 1949 - April 20th, 2010
Our loving father, loyal friend, and patriot passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at Providence St. Peter Hospital with his daughters, family, and loved ones by his side. Paul was born March 7, 1949 in Denver, CO to Marilyn and John Warren. He was the second of three children. From 1969 - 1973 he courageously served our country in the US Army in the Vietnam War. He received his BA from the University of North Dakota and his Master’s in Education from Western Washington University. He retired after 30 years of teaching from the Tumwater School District. During his summers off, he worked as a contractor building custom homes. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, sports, helping others, spending time with his family and friends, and laughing.Paul is survived by his two daughters, Jenny Crocker and Sarah Poutre, sons-in-laws, Noah Crocker and Noah Poutre, grandsons Logan and Dylan Crocker, and grandson Cohen Paul Poutre who is due in August. Funeral service will be held at the Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent, WA on May 5, beginning at 11:30 a.m. Following the funeral we are inviting all guests to join us for food and drink at the Fish Tale, as this was a place our father enjoyed. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Providence St. Peter’s Foundation for Cancer Research, 413 Lilly RD NE, Olympia, WA 98506. DIRECTIONS TO TAHOMA NATIONAL CEMETERY From Olympia: On I-5 Northbound, take exit #142A Auburn/North Bend onto Hwy 18 eastbound (near Federal Way). Stay on Hwy 18 approximately 13 miles, take the SE 256th Street exit. At the stop sign, turn Left onto SE 256th Street. Turn Right onto 180th Ave SE (first traffic light). Go straight through 3-way stop. At the next stop sign, turn Right on SE 240th Street Tahoma National Cemetery is ¼ mile on the Left. From I-90 East or Westbound: On I-90, take Exit 25 Auburn/Tacoma Highway 18 westbound. Stay on Hwy 18 approximately 13 miles, take the SE 256th Street exit. At the stop sign, turn Right on SE 256th Street. Turn Right onto 180th Ave SE (first traffic light). Go straight through 3-way stop. At the next stop sign, turn Right on SE 240th Street.
