Mark Lowell Batchelder Wheeler

Mark Lowell Batchelder Wheeler, Sr. On October 1, 2012, we lost our beloved Mark L. B. Wheeler, Sr. after his long and courageous battle with complicated illnesses. He was the loving husband of Patt Wheeler; cherished father of Mark Jr., Melissa, Denise Nanke, Erika Johnson and Meredithe Loerts; and adored grandfather of Ben, Jack, Morgan, Molly, Griffin and Afton. Mark was born September 29, 1937 in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. He lived most of his adult life in Salem, Oregon, where he was active in the legal and civic communities. He was a passionate family law attorney who enjoyed collaborative law and mediation, as well as volunteering as a Pro Tem judge. He also was a mentor to many young attorneys. Mark was very proud to be a member of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. In the civic community, Mark participated in the Salem and Keizer Elks and Rotary clubs and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. He was active in bringing Salem its 911 program many years ago. Mark served in the Oregon National Guard. In 2002, Mark retired and moved to his “cabin” on the Puget Sound and continued to live life to its fullest, enjoying the water and treasuring time spent with family and friends. Mark’s life will be remembered and celebrated on October 27, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Christopher’s Community Church, 7902 Steamboat Island Road NW, Olympia, WA 98502.
