none John Henry Witchey, 83, a 34-year resident of Olympia, died Wednesday, July 21, 2004. He was born October 23, 1920 to George and Kate (Church) Witchey in Klaber, Washington. In 1939 John graduated from Boistort High School. On January 23, 1955 he married the former Mary Helen Farmer, who survives. John served in the Air Force with the Army Air Corps from 1944 to 1970. In 1978 he graduated from South Puget Sound Community College in Construction Trades, and then in 1979 in Welding. His interests were dancing, gardening, and fishing. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Lawrence Dodge and Russell Smith; three daughters, Rochelle Albrecht, Mary Reis, and Janette Witchey; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren soon to be born. A memorial service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2004, at St. Michael Catholic Church at 1021 Boundary Street S.E. in downtown Olympia. Memorial donations may be made to St. Martin's Abbey, 5300 Pacific Avenue, Lacey, Washington, 98503. Arrangements are with Funeral Alternatives of Washington, (360) 753-1065.
