Dave Rassat passed away on April 21, 2016 in Gig Harbor, WA. Dave was born in Bellingham, WA on April 11, 1939 to Mabel Eleanor Rustad and John Arthur Rassat. He was the youngest of six children. The family moved to Seattle when he was three years old and he grew up in the Columbia City neighborhood, graduating from Franklin High School in 1957. Dave met Gail Langdon at an All City High School Dance in 1956 and the two were married on December 21, 1960.They enjoyed over 55 years of marriage, raising their four children in West Seattle. They moved to Gig Harbor in 2008. Dave is survived by Gail; their four children, Scot Rassat (Donna), Jill Pontow (Roy), Bret Rassat (Janet), and Dawn Nelson (Tim); his brother, Jim Rassat; sisters, Rene Bennett and Sandy Neshem as well as six grandchildren (Sarah Rassat, Tonnie Pontow, Tessa Pontow, Tamra Pontow, Sam Nelson and Elise Nelson). Most of Daves career was spent as a vending route operator for Service Northwest, though after he retired he also drove Access Vans for King County-Metro and made deliveries for the Puget Sound Blood Bank.Dave enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, hanging out at the ocean with his dogs, and a good, cold beer. He was a devoted and caring husband, father and grandfather. He delighted in providing thoughtful gifts to his family on special occasions and sometimes just because. A celebration of Daves life will be held at Picnic Shelter 2 at the south end of Lincoln Park from 3 to 5 pm on Friday, June 10, 2016.
