Kenneth Carl Morgan

Kenneth Carl Morgan, 69, of Lacey, Washington, died November 6, 2016. He was born December 20, 1946, to Kenneth and Beverly Morgan, the oldest of four siblings. Ken grew up in Sumner, Washington, and graduated high school with the Class of 1966. After two voluntary tours in Vietnam with the US Army, he married Shara Torkelson in 1970 and had two children, Brandi and Corey. Ken was a dedicated career employee for Washington Natural Gas and, later in life, a second profession with Department of Corrections. After a stroke forced his retirement, Ken spent his days tearing around the yard on modified riding mowers, devising ways to overcome his physical limitations and teaching his grandchildren invaluable life lessons. Ken is survived by his wife, Shara; children, Brandi and Corey (Ma Kayla); step-daughter, Lori (David) Howard; and his beloved grandchildren, Dominic (Kathleen) Ayala, Mateo Ayala, Paige Morgan, Cameron Morgan, Kaylee Howard and Paige Howard; his brother, Chris (Linda) of Puyallup; and sister, Nancy (Gary) Porter of Tacoma; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Dolly (Stan) Thompson of Puyallup. To be a friend of Ken was to know the meaning of loyalty. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Veteran’s or military organizations like Green Beans Coffee Cup of Joe or reputable dog rescue.
