Elsie was born on April 8, 1920 in Wenatchee , WA , to Daniel and Amine Stickel. She was one of seven children....Hilda, Reinholt, Anna, Clara, Elsie, Helen and Betty. She graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1939 and married Carl Snyder on June 3, 1944 in San Francisco , CA , where he was recuperating from wounds suffered in WWII.
