Wayne Bower, 78, lost his battle with Renal cancer on October 2, 2012 with his family by his side in Tacoma, Washington. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 11am at Holy Cross Church in Tacoma, Washington. He was born June 15, 1934 in Tacoma, Washington to Jolly and Eunice Bower. He has three brothers waiting for him in heaven: Robert "Dusty" Welliver, Colin Daniels, and Kenneth Daniels. Wayne lived to learn and spent his life in the pursuit of knowledge through personal experience. When he was a young man, he was a disc jockey in Mount Vernon, Washington. Then he joined the United States Air Force as a radar technician in Yuma, Arizona and Thule, Greenland. When he returned home, he worked for the United States Postal Service until he retired from there in 1992. From then on, he worked at home with his wife in their home daycare near Point Defiance Park. He had deep love for music and was a regularly requested to sing covers of popular Frank Sinatra songs at most family gatherings. Wayne is survived by his wife, Rosalina, three sisters: Sarah Hotchkiss, Dana Sprouse, and Gayle Inglis; children, James (Christa) Bower and Leilani (Micah) Adams; and grandchildren, Elizabeth and Owen Bower. Donations can be made to HelpHopeLive.org in the name ‘James Bower’ to assist in a kidney transplant for Wayne’s son, James.
