Janet Kay Purves

Janet Kay Purves, 78, passed away February 14, 2018, at Panorama in Lacey, Washington, her home the last year. She was born January 24, 1940, to Max and Marie Ziegler in Bremerton, Washington. Janet graduated from high school in Bremerton, and attended beautician school in 1959. She married Robert Purves on December 16, 1961, in Seattle, Washington. Janet loved being a wife, mother, and homemaker, and devoted her time and energy to raising two sons. When they were grown, she became an office manager for a marine products company, from which she retired. Janet and Bob enjoyed waterfront living. They spent 30 years on Lake Sammamish and 18 years on Harstine Island, where neighbors became best friends. Janet also enjoyed gardening, boating, reading books, Tai Chi, and Bible study. In younger years, she enjoyed skiing with her family. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Shelton, Washington, and TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly). Janet’s faith helped her through LIFE. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by friends and family. She leaves behind, her husband of 56 years, Robert Purves; sons, Schel Purves and Keith Purves; a grandchild; brother, Paul Ziegler; and sister, Jean Hudson.
