John G. Reinhart

Born May 20, 1927 in Elma, Washington, John G. Reinhart passed away January 13, 2017 in Olympia, Washington. He was 89. Over the years, John also lived in Yakima (1952-1953), Spokane (1953), Portland, Oregon (1965-1970), and then moved to Olympia in 1970 and built a home in Boston Harbor. John graduated from Elma Washington High School in 1945, and earned a B.A. degree from Washington State College in 1952. He joined the U.S. Navy in February 1945 and served aboard the U.S. Yorktown and U.S. Los Angeles in the Pacific Theater until February 1948. John married Luwanna Lee Boggs in Vancouver, WA, on April 4, 1951. John was owner/operator of the John Reinhart Industrial Water Treatment Company. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, Elks Lodge 186, and the Navy Cruiser Sailors Association. He loved cutting wood, fishing, hunting, sports, ballroom dancing, and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Luwanna Lee (Boggs) Reinhart of Lacey, Washington; sons, Craig F. Reinhart of El Paso, Texas, Gregory D. Reinhart of Olympia, and Matthew D. Reinhart of Lacey; four grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, John George Reinhart and Lizetta (Craig) Reinhart; brother, Craig Estes Reinhart; and sisters, Avis K.
