William John Roberts passed away at home in Lacey, Washington, on May 17, 2017. Bill was born July 17, 1953 in Sacramento, California, to Norman and Carmen Roberts. He attended Mira Loma High School in Sacramento, then attended Gonzaga University where he earned a BA in 1975. At Gonzaga, he met his wife of 37 years, Sylvia Sonne. They were married June 28, 1980 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lacey. Sylvia and Bill then settled in Woodinville, Washington. Bill worked in banking for majority of his career, first with Rainier Bank, then Bank of America and Frontier Bank. Once retired, Bill and Sylvia moved to Lacey, Washington to the family home on Long Lake. Bill was a loving father to Dr. Deanne Nyland (Nathan); grandfather to Jack Nyland; brother to Scott Roberts, Paul Roberts (Mary); uncle to Elizabeth Ahee (Bryan) and Abigail Roberts; and special daddy to Zeus and Thor. We love you Daddy. We know you will always be with us. Please leave memories of Bill or condolences for his family in the Guestbook below.
