Sarah Ninette Lewis
August 22nd, 1941 - October 5th, 2011
Sarah was born August 22, 1941 and passed away peacefully in her home on October 5, 2011. Sarah was born in Tacoma, Washington to Emerson and Evelyn White. She was a sister to William, Susie and Richard. Sarah graduated from Lincoln High School and went on to graduate from San Francisco State University. During that time she met and married Thomas Lewis and together they had three children, William, Teresa, and Robert. Sarah dedicated herself to creating a wonderful childhood for all her children. Much of that time was spent at the “Ranch”. This was her mother’s childhood home which was located on several acres that fronted the Puget Sound. Sarah would spend countless hours in the huge garden, mushroom hunting in the nearby woods and searching the beach for that ever perfect sea shell. Sarah found tranquility while at the Ranch. Sarah’s other passion was to help others. She went back to school and received her Master’s degree and had been working as a counselor for the last twenty years. She saw hope in people that most had given up on. Sarah was preceded in death by her brother William White. Sarah is survived by her three children, William, Teresa, and Robert; her sister Susie White and her brother Richard White as well as her granddaughter Katie Lewis, three great grand children, several nieces and nephews, and her beloved feline Miss Kitty. A celebration of life for Sarah will be held at the home of Robert Lewis, on October 22, 2011 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm (Open House).
