August 9th, 1932 - March 15th, 2013
JAMES WILLIAM TANKSLEY Bill slipped peacefully into the arms of his Savior March 15, 2013. He was born August 09, 1932 to Charles and Myrtle Tanksley in Granite City, IL. He was a warm, caring man who never met a stranger. Bill had a “3 foot rule”, if you came within three feet of him and made eye contact, he would greet you and soon you had a new friend. He is terribly missed by his wife of 60 years, Earleen (Coash) Tanksley, his children Craig Tanksley (Holly), Chris Tanksley (Sherry), Cherie Heugel (Jim), Cindi Bowman (Scott), and Chellee Hoover (Brett). He leaves 10 Grandchildren Jeremy, Brandon, Judson, Callie, Scotty, Nick, Zackary, Benjamin, Natalee , and Jesse; Six Great Grandchildren, Jayla, Jessica, Ashley, Mira, Maylee, and Joseph . He leaves 3 brothers: Ken (Linda), Harold (Linda), and Richard (Donna) Tanksley, and one sister, Helen Erby (Eugene) and sister-in-laws, Mary Ellen Tanksley, Mary Tanksley, and Anne Corley. He is having a glorious reunion in Heaven with his Mom and Dad and 3 brothers, Cecil (Nellie), Charles, John Tanksley, and his sister Anna Mae (James) Allison. The family wishes to express great appreciation to all of his caregivers these past weeks, and especially to the Good Samaritan Hospice folk who helped make his final days so peaceful. Memorial service will be held Saturday, March 23rd, 2013 11:00AM at Immanuel Celebration Church, 9244 Pacific Ave, Tacoma, WA. With reception to follow.
