Funeral Alternatives of Washington - Tumwater
Kathleen Sprout
January 1st, 0005 - November 26th, 2017
Surrounded by loved ones, Kathie Sprout passed away at her home on November 26, 2017. She is now with Jesus, and is free from all cancer and pain. Born May 1943 in Olympia, daughter of Neil and Anne Peters, she is survived by her devoted husband, Ralph (married 49 years and 11 months). She is also survived by her four children, Joyce, Judy, John and Patrick; three grandchildren, Stephanie, Adam and Douglas; three great grandchildren; and her sister, Linda. Kathie retired from the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife as Assistant Chief of Enforcement. She found great satisfaction at work because of her deep love for wildlife and the outdoors. After her retirement, Kathie began raising and breeding llamas. She authored three published Christian novels, and was a lifelong hunter and fisherman. Other hobbies included miniatures, building custom doll houses, sewing, and even hunting for chanterelle mushrooms in season. Reading was a daily passion for her, as was singing and playing the piano, whether at home or at her church. Kathie naturally extended Jesus’ love to others, especially those less fortunate. She frequently met with local homeless individuals one-on-one, preparing warm meals, and then delivering them personally. Many times she quietly sacrificed her own wants and needs in order to take care of someone that God brought into her life. Please leave memories of Kathie or condolences for her family in the Guestbook below.
