Edwards Memorial Funeral Homes - University Place
Ernest "Ernie" Alfred Knudson
June 26th, 1940 - January 29th, 2011
Ernest "Ernie" Alfred Knudson passed away January 29, 2011 at Tacoma General Hospital. He was surrounded by friends who loved and cared for him. Ernie was born June 26, 1940 at Puyallup General Hospital to John Knudson and Ruth Quist. He had two sisters Grace and Sally and one brother Harold; all of whom have passed before Ernie. He was born, raised, and passed in the town that he loved. He was laid to rest near his Mom and brother and not far from his Dad and sister Grace. Ernie was an icon to the downtown Puyallup area; everyone knew of him. A few of Ernie’s jobs were mowing grass, recycling cans & metal, and being a collector. He rode/pushed his bike around Puyallup. Ernie enjoyed watching Little House on the Prairie and he loved the trains he received from his dad working for the railroad. He could tell you anything you needed to know about trains and Puyallup. He had a few collections of trains around town and his apartment. He also enjoyed talking to people and going to the fair. Ernie Attended and was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Puyallup for the past 10 years (member for 8 years). He never missed a Sunday service and attended both morning and afternoon services. Ernie will be missed greatly by those whom lives he touched and by those that watched after him. AS ERNIE would say "MY BIRTHDAY IS COMING!"
