Doris Elaine Suiter

Doris Elaine Suiter September 19, 1932 – May 2, 2020 Doris Elaine Slagowski was born in Mt. View, Wyoming on September 19, 1932, to Earl and Iduma Slagowski. She was the oldest of nine children. Doris attended elementary and high school in Mt. View. During high school, she was a member of Glee Club, played the saxophone in the school band, and worked on the yearbook committee and the school newspaper. She attended the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyoming, and also a business school in Ogden, Utah. In 1951 she married Del Mar Adams Blanchard in Ogden, Utah. They had four children: Del Mar Craig (stillborn), Adam (lived one day), Del Mar Scott, and Kevin Earl (deceased). In July 1956, Del Mar Adams and Doris were in a car accident that took Del Mar’s life. Doris married William Henry Suiter in 1957. William brought two children to the marriage: Robert Lawrence and William Arthur I, Doris brought Del Mar Scott and Kevin Earl, and together they had four more children: William Arthur II, Carla Elaine, Mark Weston, and Shanon Kelli. Doris and William divorced in 1975. Over the years, Doris worked as a secretary for the Osmond Brothers, as a secretary for Geme Art Gallery, and as a receptionist for Portland Cash Register/Cash Register Sales. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she loved working with the primary children, the Cub Scouts and playing the piano. Doris loved to go to the beach; she loved reading, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and music; having family picnics and gatherings, and playing games on the computer. Doris spent her last days in her home surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was exactly where she wanted to be! She quietly passed away in her home on May 2, 2020. She was 87 years old. She is survived by her children Scott Blanchard, William A. Suiter II, Carla Suiter, Mark Suiter, and Shanon Suiter; her grandchildren Sheena Suiter, Kirstie Valerio, Tanner Suiter, Tiffany Blanchard, Jennifer Blanchard, Beau Suiter, Keanau Suiter, Davis Judd, Zackery Bishop, Braxton Bishop; her great-grandchildren Alejandra Perez, Angel Perez, Donovan Valerio, Nathaniel Valerio, Javi Valerio Jr, Frank Angel, Ryan Blanchard, Alexandria Schneider, Kyle Sharp, Kendyl Sharp, Octavia Bishop; her siblings David Slagowski and his wife Barbara, Harold Slagowski, Dixie Day, Jeannine Nelson and her husband Lee, Kirk Slagowski and his wife Penny, and many, many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her siblings Peggy Bluemel, Kay Wilkinson, Sheila Johnson, and her son Kevin Blanchard. She has been laid to rest in Douglass Cemetery in Troutdale, Oregon. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a celebration of life will be scheduled later when social distancing restrictions have been lifted.
