Mike was born on January 12, 1953, at St Joseph Hospital in Tacoma, Washington. He was the dream of parents John and Jean McQuade. They moved to a larger home on 56th St. while he was still a baby. After a couple of years, sister Janet joined the scene. Mikes mother thought she had gas, but it turned out she was 6 months pregnant. Spinal meningitis put his father in the hospital at the same time, Jack was to arrive. Janet was carted off to grandmas, but no one could find Mike. He had gone to a skating party with his Boy Scouts! Soon Richard and Sally would join the family, to make it complete. Schools for Mike would include, Horace Mann, Stewart and Lincoln. The same for all the McQuade children. After graduation, Mike tried TCC, but grew weary of more school. His father passed away in 1973. He began a career with Hallis Produce, delivering veggies in the wee hours of the morning. While on this job he met the love of his life, Nora Underwood, while she was a waitress at the Friendly Duck Restaurant. Mike and Nora were married in 1980, and five years later had their daughter, Meghan. Meghan was born with a disability that tested their faith and demonstrated their great spiritual devotion. Meghan was so adored by both of her parents, only to lose her mother, as she neared the age of 19, just 8 years after saying goodbye to her Grandma Jean. Both Nora and Mike were working at this time for the State of Washington, Department of Licensing. Nora had never got to meet her grand daughters, Teagan and Khloe, but Mike made up for the absence with his love and dedication In his recent retirement, Mike could really get into his Fantasy Sports Leagues. He leaves behind, notebooks of names and stats, which resemble a mad scientists findings. He was a simple man, who enjoyed his privacy, family, sports, religion, politics, and growing tomatoes. He was stubborn, intelligent and a proud member of the NRA. His laugh was from the heart. He made you feel important. Mike leaves us way too soon. He leaves a hole that may shrink, but never mend.
