Robert James Westfall Sr.

A 28-year resident of Rochester, Washington, Robert James Westfall Sr. passed away July 6, 2018 in Lacey, Washington, at the age of 68. He was born December 24, 1949 in Sioux City, Iowa. Bob served in the U.S. Air Force from March 1969 to January 1980, and was a Staff Sergeant during the Vietnam War. Professionally, he was a painter at shipyards and at Boeing, and became a teacher later in life. He loved riding motorcycles and spending time with his dogs. Also, he “sure didn’t mind a nice evening at the casino.” Bob is survived by his sons, Robert Westfall Jr. (Amber Westfall), and Christopher Westfall; daughter, Tamara Hanna (Robert Hanna); eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and sisters, Lois Frantz and Darlene Westfall. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Rosetta Westfall; brothers, Frank Westfall and Chuck Westfall; and grandson, Bradley Whitney. A graveside service will be held Friday, July 20, 2018, 12:00 p.m. at Grand Mound Cemetery in Rochester, Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tamara M. Hanna, P.O. Box 1000, Rainier, WA 98576 to assist with funeral expenses.
