William Edward Gourlie, 87, passed away February 15, 2019 in Chehalis, Washington, his home of 13 years. He was born April 9, 1931 to Clarence and Esther (Rogers) Gourlie in Reardon, Washington. He also lived in Brady, Ocean Shores and the Wishkah Valley, Washington. William graduated from Peninsula High School, and served in the U.S. Air Force Air Police. Professionally, he worked as a machinist at Lambs Grays Harbor Co. for nine years, and Vaughan Chopper Pumps for 21 years (December 17, 1973 to June 1, 1994). He was a life member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. William was an independent and generous man. He had interest in and motivation for social betterment. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and geology. He is survived by his sons, Donald (wife Traci), Barry (wife Nancy), and William E. (wife Karen); 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and sisters, Janet of Tumwater, Washington, and Irene of Ethel, Washington. He was predeceased by his daughter, Juanita “Nita;” father; mother; a brother; and four sisters. No services planned.
