Milo A. (Mike) Voshell, 89, died May 10, 2017 in Gig Harbor, Washington after a brief illness. Mike was born March 17, 1928 in Ford County, Kansas. He grew up in Kansas and began farming the familys dry-land wheat farms at age 14. He attended Washburn University in the winters. He married Doris Beery of Cimarron, KS in 1957. Mike continued to farm until 1968 at which time he moved to Spokane, WA for a new career. There he was a stockbroker and financial advisor with Goodbody & Co., Merrill Lynch, and Inland Northwest Securities before retiring. He enjoyed traveling and dancing with Doris, playing games with his family, sailplanes, fly fishing, skiing and later in life singing with the Spokane Melody Men and Project Joy Senior Serenaders. He is predeceased by spouse Doris, parents Lewis and Dorotha Voshell, two sisters and a brother. He is survived by two children, DLea (Mark) Martens of Denver, CO and Aaron (Kim) Voshell of Port Orchard, WA and four grandchildren, Mariah Martens, Annie Martens, Riley Voshell and Kirby Voshell. An internment service will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2:30 pm at Moran Cemetery, Spokane, WA. A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, May 21, at 2 pm at Church of the Nazarene, Gig Harbor, WA. The family thanks the numerous dedicated and compassionate caregivers who have been a part of Mikes life at Riverview Retirement Community, Stafford Suites, The Lodge at Mallards Landing and Franciscan Hospice. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Alzheimers Association or your local hospice.
