Edwards Memorial Funeral Homes - University Place
Paul Ernest Korsmoe
May 31st, 1935 - November 26th, 2013
Paul quietly passed after a short illness on Nov. 26, 2013 at age 78. He was born in Appleton, WI on May 31, 1935 and moved to Port Angeles as a boy. At 18 he moved to Tacoma and studied to be an electrician. It was during his two year stint in the Army when he met Janis on a blind date arranged by Janis’ co-worker and her husband who was Paul’s co-worker. They married 52 years ago, settled in University Place and raised their four children: Jeff, Scott, Mitch and Allison. Their household was filled with laughter, love and dogs! Paul retired as a proud member of IBEW Local 76. However, his passion in life was anything involved with trains - from making the family vacation destination a train association meeting (Disneyland was included so it wasn't all bad for the family) to sitting at Titlow Beach watching the trains go by. He was an avid toy train and train memorabilia collector as well. So much so, Paul and Janis' doorbell is a bell from a locomotive. He was a life time member of the Train Collectors Association (TCA) and founding member of the Pacific Northwest Division of the TCA. Paul leaves behind Janis and Jeff (Krista), Scott, Mitch and Allison; grandchildren Lauren, Matt, Monte, Kassy and Jordynn; great grandson Oliver; sisters Alberta Harthun and Genevieve (Lyle) Bose; in-laws Carol Gustafson, Debi Albro, Robert (Connie) Albro, Sherri (Bud) Melton, Marcia Albro; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Albert and Nora, father and mother-in-law Ardell and Pearl Albro, sister-in-law Lola McClane and brothers-in-law Cal Harthun, Gus Gustafson and Norm Albro.
