Chere Reading Conner
October 17th, 1957 - January 17th, 2016
Chere R. Conner Calkins was born 10/17/1957 in Bridgeport CT. and passed away 1/17/2016 in University Place WA. Chere's husband Chris and her met ion September 22 1997 and they were together for 18 wonderful, yet challenging years. They have been blessed to live in Lake Holiday Assc. for 17 of those years. Chere's life was full of learning, reading, growing and sharing that information with others. She worked in QA in the Airospace Indusrty for many years and she loved Fashion/Design. She loved much and laughed hard, as she went about the community cheering people up with her moxy, whit and humor. Quick to lend a hand with a can do attitude was the life she lived and the example she set. She loved people, nature, and animals. She was very active in politics and conservation while working towards a better future. Chere had a hard but beautiful life while enduring several health challenges over the years with a positive, hopeful attitude of overcoming. She had great faith in God and Spirit that remained unwavering and tenacious until her passing. Our beloved is survived by her husband of 13 years Chris Calkins, daughter Nikki G. Estes, older sisters Rise Reading and Ann Peloth, numerous extended family members and many great friends. Chere will be missed. Here Life Celebration Gathering will be held on January 31, 2016 at the Lake Holliday Club House off of Holliday Dr. in Lake Holliday between 2-6 pm.
