Henry Lee Draper
December 29th, 1924 - November 4th, 2005
This War Veteran and War Hero, Henry L. Draper Sr., our father, with might like not other moved on to Glory, Friday, November 4, 2005 approximately 9:30 am at University Place Care Center. Born to Lee Draper and Katie Dixon on December 29, 1924 in McCaskill, Arkansas. Our father, Henry L. Draper Sr., confessed Christ as his personal Savior at an early age. Preceded in death is his mother, Katie Dixon, 1960, his father, Lee Draper, 1966, his third son, Joe B. Draper, 1967 and his brother, Walter Draper, 1998. His preaching’s included the statement “Divided we fall short of victory. United we can not be beaten.” As a father his one on one correspondence across the kitchen table empowered his offspring with the common sense approach a family needs to heal a war-filled journey. As is, tradition has allowed not only the family, but this country to land on its feet. He served in World War II, Korean War and two tours in Vietnam. Let us continue the flow of his love for God, his family and his country. Surviving Mr. Draper, our father, with an unpenetratable Wall of Tolerance is his wife and lifelong partner of 55 years, Annie L. Draper of University Place, WA. His six sons are Henry L. Draper Sr. of Edmonds, WA., Tommie C. Draper of Cheyenne, WY., Walter D. Draper of Sugar Grove, IL., Andy A. Draper of University Place, WA., Kenneth P. Draper of University Place, WA., and Joe B. Draper (Deceased). His daughters are Katie E. Draper, United States Army, Fort Riley, KS and April L. Draper of University Place, WA. His 10 grandchildren which are Aaron Draper, James Draper, Kanisha Draper, Gabrielle Draper, Tameaka Draper, Adam Draper, Andrew Draper, Andrea Draper, Andy A. Draper Jr., and Patricia Draper. His nephews are Johnnie McClinton of California and David C. Williams of University Place, WA. His nieces are Kasandria Spencer of California, Wanda Burnett of California and Joyce Black of California. Also surviving our father is a host of relatives and friends. This military might has put his hand out and touched the face of God. This is truly one of the Greats. We have an extraordinary opportunity to create the ethics of professionalism that bring this nation together. Let’s review his contribution to the community. He is the peacemaker and a problem solver. He is also a great husband, father and friend. WE WILL MISS YOU BUT WE WILL SEE YOU AGAIN IN GLORY. We love you. Viewing to be held Wednesday, November 9, from 3-7 PM at Edwards Memorial Center, 3005 Bridgeport Way W., University Place, WA 98466 253-566-1008.
