Carlene Lea (Johnson) Hyndman passed away June 11, 2022, in Centralia, Washington. She was born October 2, 1939, to Carl and Irene (Gurnsey) Johnson in Lewiston, Idaho. Carlene loved visiting lighthouses, anything related to the beach, camping, family vacations and get-togethers. She enjoyed playing bingo, slots, cards, and Scrabble; doing crosswords; watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy; and collecting owls. Whenever asked a question or commenting on something, her go-to response was, “That/This isn’t necessary.” Carlene is survived by daughters, Robin Ehresman of Medical Lake, Washington, Bernice Montano of Spokane, Washington, Carrie (Tim) Emery of Chehalis, Washington, Carla Smith of Chehalis, Washington, and Doris Hyndman of Memphis, Tennessee; 17 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Linda (Gary) VanBlokland of Milton-Freewater, Oregon; brother, Gary (Rosie) Johnson of Kennewick, Washington; nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Tina Lainez; and ex-husband, Edwin Hyndman. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled for a later date this summer.
