Angel Jose Maria Alvarez passed away after a stroke on October 28, 2022, in Centralia, Washington. He was born February 20, 1946, to Javier Leon Alvarez and Angela Maria Alvarez in Lima, Peru. Angel earned a bachelor’s degree from New York City College. He was intelligent, very well read, a great conversationalist, and wonderful debater. In addition to being a scuba diver, he loved fishing with his younger brother, Peter Alvarez of New York City, niece/Goddaughter, Cynthia Grekov; nephew, Peter Jr., and niece, Janet Perez, who survive him. He also loved his pooch, Pepito. He is predeceased by his parents; brother, Javier Alvarez Jr; and sister-in-law, Teresa Alvarez. Memorial donations may be made to Best Friends Animal Society.
