Brent Thomas Neff

Brent Thomas Neff, a beloved member of the Centralia, Washington, community for 22 years, died November 23, 2022, at age 63, after a long battle with cancer. He was born March 25, 1959, to Edward and Sylvia Neff in Auburn, Washington. Brent graduated from Tumwater High School and Centralia College. He married Ruth Wolbert on February 14, 2002, at Fort Worden State Park in Port Townsend, Washington, and even catered his own Valentine’s Day wedding. Professionally, he worked for the Washington State Liquor Control Board for 28 years as manager of the Tumwater store. Brent loved his animals, the outdoors, hiking, climbing, and camping with this wife and kids. He also loved camping and shrimping with his best lifelong friend, Toby Lasley. He built a beautiful orchard containing many different kinds of fruit. He also had a love of and amazing knack for cooking, making delicious chocolates every year that were handed out to many friends and family. He was very proud of his grandchildren and loved spending time with them. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Wolbert-Neff; son, Brian Wolbert; daughter, Sarah Wolbert; five grandchildren; mother, Sylvia Neff; brother, Randy Neff; and sister, Melisa Neff Walley. He was predeceased by his father, Edward Neff. A Celebration of Life will be held January 27, 2023, 2:00-4:30 p.m., South Sound Manor, 455 North St. SE, Tumwater, WA 98501.
