Danielle Elise McGowan

Danielle Elise McGowan passed away unexpectedly on the 11th of July, 2015 at the young age of 25. There is little consolation but for the fact that she is now in a better place and her soul is at peace. Born on December 10, 1989 in Salinas, California, Danielle also spent time in Boise, Idaho and the San Francisco Bay Area in California before spending the last year of her life in Tacoma, Washington. Danielle was a complex and beautiful individual. She was simultaneously fearless and terrified of spiders. She immediately lit up a room with her vivacious personality and animated presence. Her sense of humor brought joy to many. She had a kind heart and was always willing to help and encourage those in need. Danielle enjoyed cooking, gardening, and a diverse assortment of music. She loved getting an already good bargain even cheaper! She experienced the greatest sense of peace and contentment when she was spending time in nature. The youngest of five children, Danielle is survived by her parents George and Suzanne McGowan, her sisters Sharon and Naomi, her brothers Micah and Seth, and her beloved nieces and nephews Dasha, Rilee, Baylee Danielle, Brighton, and Kainoa. While she loved her entire family, she especially adored her nieces and nephews, and one of her greatest joys was spending time with them. We love you dearly, our little Nellie Belle. You will live on in our hearts and memories. You are now free from the struggles of life; fly home, little swallow. Special thanks to the community of Tacoma and surrounding areas who took time to search for her during the week in which she was missing. Thanks also to her community at the Metropolitan Market. We are indebted to you for your kindness to her during this final phase of her life. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, July 24th from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Steilacoom Town Hall at 1717 Lafayette Street, Steilacoom, WA 98388. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Humane Society of Tacoma in honor of her love of animals or the Salvation Army in honor of her desire to help others.
