IN LOVING MEMORY OF DEBORAH A. PHILLIPS JUNE 11, 1956 – APRIL 28, 20015 Viewing FRIDAY, MAY 8 2015 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. EDWARDS MEMORIAL LAKEWOOD 11020 S. TACOMA WAY LAKEWOOD, WA 98499 Deborah A. Phillips, 58, of Olympia departed this life Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Park & Rose Care Center in Tacoma, WA. Deborah was born in Caruthersville, Missouri on the 11th Day in June of 1956 to the late Verlira (Taylor) Pratcher and the late Willie B. Pratcher. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1975 and attended Lake Michigan College and Eton College. Deborah married Garry L. Phillips In the summer of 1975 and gave birth to their first child a baby boy Garry L Phillips Jr. In 1982 they began on a journey together starting in Ft Hood Texas where they were blessed to give birth to a second child a Baby Girl Kaleena L. Phillips (St Julien) in 1983. From there the family embarked on an adventurous tour to Europe. While in Europe the family traveled to Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, and Italy, Just to name a few of the many more places the family traveled in Europe. Upon returning to the United States in 1986, the family ventured to Ft Lewis Washington where they decided to make Olympia WA there home. Deborah Began working at Madigan Army Medical Center while the family continued to pursued their Career with the United States Army. Early 90’s Deborah attended Eton College to follow her dream of becoming a medical assistant. Deborah was employed by Providence St Peters As a medical Assistant in the Family Practice Office in Olympia. Throughout her journey in life Deborah did many different volunteering project but in the late 90’s her volunteer work With United Community Aids Network (UCAN) is where she fulfilled her passion for helping others. After almost twenty five years she returned home to Benton Harbor MI. in 2006 to be near and assist with the care of her ill father. Deborah leaves to cherish her memory her Husband; Garry L. Phillips, Children: Son Garry L Phillips Jr Daughter: Kaleena L. St Julien (Phillips) Grandson’s: D’Andre L. Phillips, Isaiah A. Phillips all of Olympia WA., Siblings: Brothers Nathaniel Pratcher, Dwight Pratcher of Benton Harbor MI., Sister Paulette Strong of Flint MI., Sister Genette Vinson and Brother Kelvin Pratcher of Battle Creek MI., Sister Karen Hobbs of Dallas TX., Sister Ella Nickerson of Gary IN., Brother Benny Miles of Milwaukee, and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her Father Willie B. Pratcher, Mother Verlira Pratcher, Brother Kenneth W. Pratcher, and Grandson Xavier C. Phillips.
